Mars black is a heavily granulating, single pigment black.
Mixing with pure black will cause your mixing color to desaturate, making it more moody. On top of that, this single pigment will make any color you mix with it separate beautifully.
Of course, Mars black can look beautiful in its pure state as well. We especially enjoy using it in deep areas of bogs or caves.

These watercolors are carefully crafted with professional quality pigments and a handmade binder, made out of gum arabic, and honey. We do not use clove oil in our paints.
